Buy-to-let 'best this century'

The best investment in the UK so far this century is buy-to-let property, according to Landlord Mortgages.

Buy-to-let property sees better return that investing in gold or any of the companies in the FTSE 100, research from the company found.

Managing director of Landlord Mortgages Lee Grandin said: "While buy-to-let property may not be an option for everybody, our latest research shows that you can make considerable gains on capital invested in this asset class.

"Potential landlords need to make sure they do their research thoroughly and understand the nature of the market fully before they make this type of commitment."

And though rental yields in the past few years have been on the decline, it has been forecast that rent is go up, Mr Grandin added.

If one purchased a buy-to-let property in 2000 and put down a deposit of £25,000, then in the past seven years one would have seen a return of £33,288, which equates to 133 per cent.ADNFCR-1116-ID-18253798-ADNFCR
