Cultural Liverpool attracts buyers

Liverpool, the European Capital of Culture 2008, will offer property investors good opportunities in the year ahead.

That is according to property agent Sutton Kersh, which said that it has already seen an increase in interest.

"In 2003, when Liverpool was awarded the capital of culture 2008, there was a huge influx of investment; people were literally queuing up to buy properties across the city," revealed Philip Lawton, director of the firm.

Liverpool's status as the capital of culture, coupled with large investment in specific areas, has helped to boost the city's appeal to buyers.

"Liverpool remains a great place to invest and recently appeared in a Daily Mail article as one of the top ten cities that will defy the house price gloom in 2008," continued Mr Lawton.

"There has already been massive regeneration of the city including a new waterfront arena, a billion pound retail shopping complex, new cruise liner terminal and numerous prestigious hotels but there is much more to do and the regeneration will continue way beyond 2008," he added.ADNFCR-1116-ID-18416341-ADNFCR
