Good time to buy property

Good time to buy property

The majority of property investors believe that now is a good time to invest.

That is according to the latest survey from Property for Life, which reveals that 75 per cent of respondents described now as an opportune time to buy a house.

It comes despite 40 per cent of those questioned saying that they do not expect house prices to rise in 2008.

The confidence over investments centres on the relief of some of the financial pressures being faced by many, particularly interest rates.

"December's base rate reduction is a sign of a promising year ahead for investors. Although the decision was taken today to hold the rate this month, we can look forward to the prospect of another drop early on in the year," said Property for Life managing director David Austin.

"As always, the long term prospects of bricks and mortar are healthy.

"With no slowing of demand for rental property, the buy-to-let sector is playing a key role in helping to underpin the market," he added.ADNFCR-1116-ID-18423929-ADNFCR
